Dr. Eoin Coughlan
Lecturer in Addiction and Group Facilitation
Eoin has been working in the addiction field for the last six years and has been delivering training on addiction and group facilitation with The Learning Curve Institute since 2010.
He holds a 1st Class Honours Masters in Drug and Alcohol Policy from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) where his thesis explored “Music as a Therapeutic Intervention within an Irish Addiction Service”.
Eoin has completed a PhD study in Trinity College Dublin on the implementation of the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) into an existing addiction service. He also holds a 1st Class Masters degree in traditional music from the University of Limerick where he has tutored and lectured on their various music degree programmes over the last 7 years.
Eoin is one of the most experienced music facilitators in Ireland specialising in working with marginalised groups and clients in addiction treatment. As a performing and recording artist, Eoin released his debut album; “Blood in Vein” in 2007 to critical acclaim and a second album was released in early 2012. He is a regular performer with Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey and comedy legend, Pat Shortt. He has toured extensively with the seminal traditional music group, NOMOS, where he shared the stage with, amongst others, artists such as Emmylou Harris, Billy Bragg, Bryan Ferry and Gomez.
