An Overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
The purpose of this training session in ASD is to enable team members to increase their own understanding of ASD and their awareness of ASD particular to their client cohort, and to enhance their skills in working with the client who is experiencing an ASD and co-occurring/associated difficulties.
Suitable for: Therapists and Counsellors, early childhood Educators and Care Professionals and those working in Social Care, Youth and Family Care, Nursing Practitioners, Addiction Services and Homeless Agencies.

One day training delivered remotely to a group or organisation.
Programme Aims
At the end of the training session participants should be able to:
- Have an awareness and deepened understanding of the characteristics of ASD
- Be able to respond sensitively to the client
- Have an understanding of the specific challenges with engaging those with ASD
- Consider and begin to develop skills required to engage those with ASD and co-occurring/associated challenges

Awareness of the characteristics of ASD
The experience of ASD Particular challenges experienced by this client cohort
Specific challenges associated with engaging individuals with ASD Difficulties and challenges which may co-occur and/or be associated with ASD (e.g. mental health challenges)
