Working with Guilt
This one day workshop will focus on the emotion of guilt and how childhood attachment can often create a guilt complex. Guilt will be differentiated from other emotions, while it’s developmental origins will also be explored. Interpersonal symptoms of guilt such as submissiveness, obsessiveness, feelings of inferiority and constant states of doubt will be explored together with the self image of the person struggling with guilt. Therapeutic interventions will be outlined together with the specifics of a therapeutic relationship designed to speak to people suffering from intense feelings of guilt or an underlying guilt complex.
Suitable for: Psychologists, Counsellors, those working with addiction, Psychotherapists, Nurse Practitioners, Youth Workers, Social Care Workers
Members of The Addiction Counsellors of Ireland can earn CPD points for completing this workshop.
“I just really enjoyed how comprehensive and stimulating the course was. It offered a depth psychology* experience and I had so many Aha moments that I think it will really enhance the way I work with my clients going forward. Kevin was a fantastic facilitator. He really validated anyone who participated via a question or comment and enhanced their knowledge further through his answers.”
* Depth psychology refers to the practice and research of the science of the unconscious, covering both psychoanalysis and psychology.
