Understanding Narcissism - theory and practice

Delivered by Dr. Kevin Fehin, this workshop will focus on providing participants with an understanding of narcissism, both traits and personality disorder. The workshop will explore the developmental dynamics that promote narcissism and the subsequent interpersonal dynamics that arise in adulthood. Topics such as narcissistic supply, ego fragility, shame, compensation, fantasy vs reality and the lack of mirroring so central to narcissism will be covered.

Suitable for all mental health practitioners and those with an interest in narcissism and it’s impact on contemporary culture.

Members of The Addiction Counsellors of Ireland can receive learning credits on completion of this workshop.

“Kevin's knowledge of the subject area was spectacular! I thought there was an excellent balance between theory and practice issues. He also had a great intuition for when the audience may have been confused - for example, over the technical vs vernacular use of a word or phrase.”

Dr Lucy Moore, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, May 2023

“I loved how the trainer provided information from the most basic level, through the complexity of primary and secondary narcissism ultimately leading to personality disorder. I found the therapeutic advice very interesting, as well as helpful for the future. Real life experience was shared, making it very valuable. Congratulations to Kevin, not only for all the knowledge shared, but for his excellent ability to impart this. “
